OFK forward Saman Ghoddos has committed himself to the Swedish club by extending his contract for another two years.
The Iran international was expected to leave OFK, and in recent months Queens Park Rangers have been linked with the player.
Ghoddos has been one of OFK’s standout players in this season’s Europa League, and his goals helped them to the knockout stages of the competition, where they meet Arsenal tonight.
This has brought him attention from clubs across Europe, including QPR, but it’s now been confirmed he’s extended his contract until 2020 with OFK.
We covered reports from Sweden last summer that QPR had tabled an offer of £1.9m for Ghoddos, which was rejected by OFK.
At the time, the OFK hierarchy said if the right bid came in for the forward they would have considered selling him, but QPR didn’t return.
However, If QPR are to revive their interest in Ghoddos in the summer, it’s likely they would have to significantly increase their initial bid now he’s extended his contract.
