PSV Eindhoven were keen on signing Patrick van Aanholt in the winter market, but Crystal Palace turned down multiple approaches made by the Eredivisie club for the left-back.
Having failed to land the Netherlands international, PSV ended up taking Ricardo Rodríguez on loan from AC Milan.
Eindhoven Dagblad once again talks about PSV’s failure to land the 29-year-old in January and they further state the option for the Eagles fullback to move to Eindhoven in the upcoming window is ‘explicitly kept open’.
PSV, however, may face a ‘complicating factor’ to land the Palace defender, and that’s because of Paris Saint-Germain’s arrival on the scene.
It’s claimed the Ligue 1 winners have joined the race to sign Roy Hodgson’s man.
Layvin Kurzawa is expected to leave the Paris club in the summer and Van Aanholt is viewed as one of the players who could replace him at the Parc des Princes.
ED goes on to add Van Aanholt is unclear where he will play next season.
Van Aanholt’s contract at Selhurst Park is until 2021 and if he decides against signing an extension, the next window will be the last big opportunity for Palace to cash in from his sale.
