It’s no secret that Steven Gerrard has very quickly made himself popular among the players at Rangers. The latest man in charge at Ibrox has managed to impress the squad, and those on international duty have been eager to tell all to their home country’s media.
At the beginning of last week, Alfredo Morelos told the Colombian media: “I’m happy with a coach who is giving me the opportunity to play. I am growing a lot as a player and a person, it is motivating because he’s given me a lot of confidence and is very aware of me.”
Later on in the week, the Rangers striker added: “I feel very happy, I hope to do everything in the best way, just like it is at Rangers. Now I have to enjoy this time with the national team, with the scoring aim, to take advantage of my opportunity to make the goals I hope for.”
Alfredo Morelos got the chance to represent his country during the victory over Venzeuela at the weekend.
After the match he spoke to Colombian TV and Marca Claro quote the Rangers player as saying: “I’m happy for the debut yesterday and with a victory, I contributed in those 10 minutes and I felt very happy, I experienced them in the best way, it was a pride for me, I had a very clear chance, but unfortunately it didn’t go in.”
There’s a good chance the forward has shown enough, both on and off the pitch, to be selected by Colombia for the next international break, as long as Steven Gerrard continues to show faith him at Rangers.
