Over the past few weeks, the idea that AS Roma could make the loan of Diego Llorente from Leeds United a permanent one has become stronger.
That’s because the Spaniard has enjoyed himself more and more in Italy, gaining the trust of José Mourinho, who has given him more opportunities to impress.
He’s even helped AS Roma keep a good number of clean sheets when he’s been on the pitch, which wasn’t the case at Leeds, but there remains an obstacle in the way for a permanent move, according to AS Roma Live.
Seemingly at home in Rome, the player has made it clear he wouldn’t be against leaving Elland Road for good, but the €18m option to buy is still ‘deemed excessive’ by the Serie A club.
Well, that’s what Tiago Pinto thinks about it, and that falls in line with the idea that some sort of negotiation could take place between Leeds and Roma to see if that could be brought down.
Either way, Llorente has ‘integrated well’ at the club, and that’s an advantage for any negotiation going forward, as he is happy to stick around.
