‘Raul a precio de crack’. We don’t even have to translate it to show what Mexican newspaper Record thinks of Raul Jimenez’s possible transfer to Everton FC. He would be going for the price of a great player, something that he clearly isn’t.

The newspaper doesn’t really have any fresh information on the case, and only takes claims from the Portuguese Record and The Sun to show that one of their players could be moving to Everton for an impressive €50m.

The stats from the last season used by Record Mexico – 26 appearances, seven as a starter, eight goals scored – also show that Jimenez doesn’t have impressive numbers, and the exaggerated price-tag is probably why they take two pages to cover a rumour from a Portuguese newspaper.

The Lisbon outlet, by the way, has no updates on the case today. And if we could bet, we would say there won’t be any from now on.

Unless Everton are out of their minds, they won’t pay €50m for a player who can’t even start in the Portuguese league, so there won’t be much to report after Benfica’s alleged demands.
