Sporting have set their sights on signing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Pablo Sarabia, according to Leonine.

The winger was on loan at the Portuguese club during the 2021/22 season, when he was owned by Paris Saint-Germain.

During his loan spell at Sporting, the Spain international scored 21 goals and registered 10 assists from 45 games. The Lions tried bringing him back to the club in the last window but Wolves didn’t entertain them.

Sarabia’s performances for Sporting made him a fan favourite there and the report states they are aiming to make another attempt to sign him, likely in January.

Leonine state Sporting president Frederico Varandas now ‘dreams’ about the 31-year-old returning to the club.

Varandas has met with Sporting manager Rúben Amorim and director of football, Hugo Viana, to discuss a potential deal for the Wolves man. The website adds Sporting, led by their president, would be ‘willing to make a financial effort’ to try to secure his services.

Sarabia scored his first goal of the season in Wolves’ last win over Tottenham Hotspur, and with that, Leonine say he has found a ‘new life’ at Molineux.

Sporting would have to convince both the attacker and Gary O’Neil’s side in order to get a deal over the line.
