Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with Radu Drăgușin’s representative Florin Manea over a potențial deal for the Genoa player.
That’s according to the agent himself and he made this claim during an interview with Romania’s Fanatik.
Manea claims Tottenham are one of the clubs he has already met during his trip to England.
“I have been in London for quite some time and I have almost weekly meetings with important teams,” he said.
“We’re getting closer and closer. I talked to Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham. I also have messages with them, conversations. There are teams that ask [about Drăgușin].”
The 21-year-old initially joined the Serie A side on a loan deal from Juventus and his stay there was made permanent earlier this year.
Since the start of last season, the centre-back has been a regular for the Italian club [54 appearances] and his impressive form has seen him linked with a move away from them.
At the weekend, Drăgușin stated his representative is handling the renewal talks with Genoa. Although Manea didn’t talk about that during the interview with Fanatik. He did say the player, who he claims is desired by Tottenham, could be in line for a big move in the near future.
“No [he cannot stay at Genoa long-term], no. Genoa know that, too. If he continues like this, I don’t think the Europeans will catch him either. I was laughing with my brother. I say, I’m going to sit at the Europeans, phone in hand, waiting for offers. And he’s like, No, I don’t think you catch them. And I think he’s right,” Manea explained.
The agent has even insisted the Romania international favours a move to the Premier League.
“I want to say that 100%, by next summer, Radu will play at a very strong club! To the top 10 in the world. He wants to be in the Premier League, but know that Milan really like him. I talked to the people there,” he added.
