Brighton and Hove Albion are working on a deal for Rosario Central youngster Facundo Buonanotte, with the Argentine club’s president confirming as much.
Brighton have been linked with Buonanotte since the summer, when they made an effort to secure his signature.
It appeared a deal was close to being done at one point before Rosario pulled out of the arrangement following backlash from their fanbase.
He remained in his homeland but has continually been linked with the Seagulls since, with numerous reports insisting the Premier League side remain keen.
Indeed, just this week Rosario’s president Ricardo Carloni admitted they needed to sell the player to help ease the club’s finances.
He suggested a new offer from Brighton was being discussed by the club and has now doubled down on that suggestion today in a discussion about the situation at the club.
“For Buonanotte, we are working on a proposal that came from Brighton in England,” elciudadanoweb.com report him saying to Sello de Fútbol when asked about the club’s prize asset.
“We will wait for the best offer we get and then we will analyse what to do,” said the
“In several places they said that Buonanotte was sold, the same with Veliz and it was not true, like many other things; no player is sold, although it is true that we need a sale to balance.”
