Newcastle United are expected to be busy in the upcoming transfer window if the club’s Saudi takeover goes through.
Reports coming out of France have stated the Magpies are offering a lucrative proposal to Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
Foot Mercato in particular explained Steve Bruce’s side ‘dream’ of signing Real Betis star Nabil Fekir and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, who is a free agent in the summer.
The France international joined the La Liga side from Lyon last summer and signed a four-year contract. He’s enjoyed a good campaign with Betis, managing seven goals and six assists in the league.
Betis president Ángel Haro has given an interview to Cope Sevilla and during the course of the discussion, he was asked about the rumours linking the attacking midfielder with other clubs.
Responding to that, he said: “Fekir is very satisfied with his stay in Seville, happy with the team and wants to continue. Our idea is to keep him on the team. He is a high-quality player and from there we will see. We don’t have any plans to sell this player.”
Amid claims claims of Newcastle’s interest Fekir, Haro has taken an opportunity to make it clear that Betis have no intention to sell the player in the summer. However, money talks, and the Magpies are expected to have a lot of it soon.
