Fotospor report Southampton have dropped their asking price for Mario Lemina and now want €11m from Galatasaray, instead of his redemption clause which is set at €16m.

The Gabon midfielder has previously stated that he wants to continue his career in Turkey with Galatasaray if possible, and there were reports in the Turkish media which stated the Super Lig side are working to find a solution to keep him in the squad for next season.

According to Fotospor, during a meeting between the two clubs, Southampton have reportedly told Galatasaray they can have Lemina for a reduced fee. However, the Istanbul side rejected their proposal as they still can’t afford to meet whatever it was the Saints asked for.

It’s claimed Southampton have dropped their asking price because of Mario Lemina’s intention to stay at Galatasaray. After joining the club on a loan deal42, Lemina has been a key player for Fatih Terim’s side.

The 26 year old has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.

He’s under contract at St. Mary’s until June 2022.
