For the past few days, various claims in Italy have discussed Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte as a possible candidate to become the Juventus coach after this season.
Massimiliano Allegri is currently in charge of the Old Lady, and they have endured a poor start to the campaign, managing two wins from nine matches in all competitions.
Five days ago, Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia stated that Juve could look at the Tottenham boss if they resist the temptation to sack Allegri until the end of this campaign.
Conte’s deal runs down in 2023 and the north London club have an option to extended it by a year. On Monday, Calciomercato reported the 53-year-old has postponed renewal talks with Spurs and he also wants to see whether a door opens for him to return to the Serie A side.
“Allegri is the tip of the iceberg. This situation starts a long time ago, since Allegri left for the first time [2019]. He had to be replaced immediately by Conte. They had the opportunity to take him, and they did not take him,” Brambati said.
“The person who could replenish a latent and scarce club was him, he was also capable of making the market. Agnelli pays his presumption and personal stinginess. If he had not acted by going against his words, that is to act only for Juve, he would have taken Conte, proposed by Paratici and Nedved.
“Arrivabene in other situations was already at the door. A 4-year contract has been made to Allegri, you are prisoner of a contract that you made.
“I would prepare the way for Conte, who has not yet renewed with Tottenham and expires in June 2023. I would prepare for a severance pay with Allegri, continuing until the end of the season by saving what can be saved.”
It’s to be noted that Brambati, who now works as an agent, is not Conte’s representative.
