Last November, Tottenham Hotspur appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager, after sacking Nuno Espírito Santo.

The Italian signed a contract with the north London club until the end of this season, with an option to extend it by a year. He helped Spurs finish the last campaign in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham have started the season on a bright note, picking up 14 points from six matches, and they currently sit in third in the table. It won’t be a surprise if Spurs chief Daniel Levy decides to offer a new contract to the former Chelsea manager.

Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia took to Twitter to claim the 53-year-old is ‘not renewing’ with the English club and there’s a reason behind that stance.

Bargiggia explains that if Juventus resist the temptation to sack Massimiliano Allegri until the end of this season, they can then ‘go straight to Conte, who can’t wait to return’ to the Serie A side.

The current Tottenham manager was at the Turin club between 2011 and 2014 and helped them win three consecutive league titles.

Juve have struggled under Allegri this season, managing only two wins in the league from six matches, and suffering two defeats in the Champions League.

Of course, it could be Italian bias which prompts the claim Conte wants a return to Juventus, but it may be time for Tottenham to start pushing a renewal more seriously.
