Wolverhampton Wanderers have received encouragement to sign Mjällby AIF’s Abdoulie Manneh.

The 20-year-old has been speaking to Fotboll Direkt, where he opened the door to make a switch to the Premier League. Wolves have been credited with an interest in the forward from England.

On April 22nd, Expressen reported Vítor Pereira’s side, Olympiacos and FC Cincinnati are all ‘very interested’ in acquiring his signature. It was also said Wolves and two other clubs are considering making offers in the summer window.

A day later, Mjällby sporting director Hasse Larsson had indicated right offer is needed for them to sanction the Gambia international’s sale. The official, however, didn’t mention the figure that is needed to convince the Swedish club.

The attacker’s contract lasts until December 2027 but is already thinking about transfer.

“I’m planning for my next step to be one of the five biggest leagues, preferably the Premier League,” he said.

When asked if he has preference in the Premier League, Manneh explained: “No, no, no. I can play for anyone.”

Fotboll Direkt then followed it up and asked whether he’ll stay at Mjällby beyond the next window.

“It is a difficult question to answer. I just think I have to focus on the matches and then we will see what happens this summer,” the Wolves target added.

Manneh arrived at the club from Gambian side Wallidan FC in January 2024 and since then, he scored nine goals and registered two assists from 37 games.

He has been mainly used as a left winger but can also operate up front or as an attacking midfielder. If Wolves were to sell Matheus Cunha after this season, Manneh could repalce the Brazilian at Molineux.
