Scott McTominay’s exit from Manchester United couldn’t really be going much better than it has done so far.
The Red Devils youth graduate scored his first Serie A goal for Napoli against Como and this came after he scored for the club against Palermo in the Coppa Italia.
He’s become a regular for the Naples club already, with Antonio Conte accommodating him in the final third. More so even than Conte, it is the Italian press that has fallen head over heels in love with the player.
FIFA agent Cristian Bosco lunedì has spoken to Canale 8 about the Manchester United youth graduate, stating that McTominay could be one of the best midfielders in the entire history of the Partenopei.
He said, as relayed by CalcioNapoli24: “You can be a winner even if you have different DNA. This Napoli is a cynical Napoli. McTominay will still have to prove himself in Italy, but he is potentially one of the best midfielders in Napoli’s history.”
Quite some claim.
Lunedi also went on to state that Napoli are favourites to win the Scudetto and that it is their title to lose.
“I’ll throw down a provocation. This year’s Napoli has no opponents, only Napoli can lose this Scudetto!”
While McTominay has got his time at Napoli off to a great start and they could win the title, it might be too early to get quite so carried away.
The club has had icons like Diego Maradona, Marek Hamsik, Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne in the past and McTominay has a long way to go to reach their standing for Napoli.
