Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is ‘regaining his best form’ and could soon be the star of the show for Napoli.

That’s according to Area Napoli, who say the Frenchman has been forgotten amid their good start to the season.

Luciano Spalletti’s side currently sit top of Serie A after seven games, having won five and drawn two so far.

Ndombele, who joined them on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham in the summer, has featured in five of those games so far but only in a bit part role, with 105 minutes to his name.

He’s very much on the outside looking in at this moment in time, having found his start to life in Italy criticised in certain corners.

It seems, though, that they’ve not given up hope on him turning things around, with Area Napoli insisting he is a ‘top player’ who is simply yet to ‘prove his worth’.

As far as they’re concerned, he is ‘potentially the best player in the squad’ and is slowly regaining the form that saw him valued as highly as €80m a few seasons ago.

That could see him become ‘decisive’ for them in the coming weeks, although he will start needing to show that on the pitch sooner rather than later if the optimism isn’t to die out completely, like it did at Tottenham.
