Peruvian youngster Kluiverth Aguilar is finally set to complete his Manchester City move. The player was seen at Lima international airport this week, where he was set to take a flight to Europe.
The City Football Group reportedly spent €2.5m to sign the right-back from Allianza Lima. Despite registering him for the Premier League side, their decision was to loan him out to Lommel for at least one season.
Speaking to local journalists, Aguilar showed his excitement with the transfer, claiming he’s not expecting to be back in Peru anytime soon.
“Beyond my young age, I hope to give one hundred percent in what this new experience will be,” Kluiverth Aguilar told RPP.
“The idea I have is not to return to Peru in 10 years, at least.”
Quizzed about the chances of playing for Manchester City in the future, the 18-year-old says this is objective, even though he must do well for Lommel first.
“I believe that yes, it’s possible, in this life everything is possible, My goal is to reach the first team, but everything will come in due course.”
Aguilar has been targeted with heavy criticism from the Peruvian media in the past few months for not playing well for Allianza Lima since the City deal was reached.
Hopefully he’ll be able to do his best in Belgium as soon as he has the chance.
