Barcelona are not ruling out the possibility of signing Gerard Deulofeu back from Everton in the summer.
Until the market opens, the La Liga side have an option to sign the player for a few million more than the €6m paid by Everton in 2015.
The winger may not have been able to convince in England, but his good loan spell at Milan has been generating a lot of rumours about a permanent move to Italy or Spain at the end of the season.
Barcelona director Robert Fernández has recently spoken to Cadena Ser (via Sport) and seemed excited with Deulofeu’s form: “We have the possibility and that is good, we have the possibility to do it and I am very happy of what is happening.
“He was at Everton and wasn’t playing. He made the transfer to Milan, is playing and has been called up for the national team. We will wait for events. It is good news to have the possibility. I think it’s €12m to recover him.”
The official was also asked to comment on the chance of signing Hector Bellerín from Arsenal, since the Spaniard has been much linked to a Barça move lately as well: “He is a good player and he is playing very well at Arsenal. He is young and very interesting.”
Everton were wise when they negotiated the buyback clause with Barcelona. There’s a stipulation which means Barca can’t simply pay the lower fee to Everton and then sell Deulofeu on for a bigger price.
