After Tuesday morning’s reports from Spain, it’s now the Portuguese press who claims that Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way to Juventus.
Newspaper Record didn’t even want to wait for their Wednesday edition to bring their news. In an article on their website on Tuesday evening, they claimed that Real Madrid and the Old Lady are in ‘advanced negotiations’ for the transfer.
According to the report, the move has been worked by Jorge Mendes and his staff for a while, with some ‘very significant advances’ in the past few days.
Record claims that the transfer should be done for €100m, a very similar amount to the one paid by Real Madrid to take the player from Manchester United in 2009.
It’s also said that Ronaldo’s choice for Juventus has something to do with their fans’ reaction to his performance in Turin for the Champions League this year, when he scored two goals, including a fantastic overhead kick, he was much applauded in the occasion.
It’s worth recalling that Record was one of the first outlets to report Ronaldo’s decision to leave Real Madrid a month ago, and now they’re the first in Portugal to bring updates on the potential move.
