It had been a while since we last covered reports about the interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in players from the Portuguese league, but there’s a fresh one today.
According to A Bola, Nuno Espírito Santos’ side are in the race for Braga defender Bruno Viana. It’s said the club have the 25-year-old in the ‘list of potential reinforcements’.
The newspaper recalls that Wolves had a chance to check on the player this season, as they’ve faced Braga for the Europa League group stage, with Viana starting on both occasions.
But the competition for the Brazilian should be tough, since A Bola claims that Lazio, Milan and Watford are all interested in him as well.
A Bola claims that earlier this year, Braga rejected an offer from Flamengo, who wanted to pay €7.5m for half of the player’s rights. The Portuguese side demanded €20m on that occasion.
Even though there could be an auction for Viana this summer, his price can’t go that high, since his release clause is of €25m.
There’s no information on where Wolves’ talks for the player stand so far.
