It’s been a couple of days since Wolverhampton Wanderers started being linked to the Porto star Yacine Brahimi. And since these rumours got to Portugal, we’ve seen two other Premier League clubs being frequently mentioned: Everton and Newcastle United.
Both sides have been involved in Brahimi rumours in the past, and they’re now named by the newspapers just to make it clear Wolves are not the only English club after him.
However, as Brahimi makes it to O Jogo’s front page today, there are three interesting topics that both the Toffees and Magpies should be aware of.
Firstly: As Brahimi’s contract is expiring in 2019, he should now be available for only €30m. That’s a lot less than his price in the previous seasons, when his €60m release clause had been demanded.
Thirdly: he’s not interested in a Wolves transfer. The main reason behind it would be his supposed bad relationship with Nuno Espírito Santo, who had been his boss at Porto.
So in case Everton or Newcastle are still interested, this is basically a siren telling them to go for Brahimi once again. This transfer window seems like the perfect opportunity to land him, and with Algeria out of the World Cup, there’s plenty of time to negotiate.
