As the Anderson Talisca saga continues, one of its chapters is getting to an end on Thursday.
Today is the day when the buying option that Besiktas have over the player expires. And the Portuguese press doesn’t expect the Turkish side to trigger the clause after the midfielder’s two-year spell at the club.
That’s why Talisca’s future seems even more open now, giving plenty of room for new rumours to show up. Or maybe for the old ones to gain strength.
Newspaper Record, for example, has picked Liverpool as the main contenders in the race, saying there’s now an ‘open path’. As they explain the Besiktas situation, they claim that the Reds are the club pointed out as most likely to get the Brazilian.
But Record has absolutely nothing new on Liverpool’s chase for the player, despite putting them in the headline. This is just a matter of preference. For example, other papers have gone with Juventus today, after taking claims from the Turkish press.
The sure thing is that Benfica have no interest in keeping Talisca for next season, and will work hard to get a good fee with him this summer. Just in England, Liverpool, Manchester United and Wolves have all been linked to the midfielder, although none of them seem close to signing him.
