It shouldn’t take long until Porto release an official document in which they state how much Manchester United are paying for the transfer of Alex Telles.
While we wait for it, we’ve been checking the Portuguese media to see the price being reported by them, since the English press has been bringing different versions of it.
Newspapers Correio da Manhã and Record are those with more details. They say the deal was agreed yesterday, when Manchester United put €20m on the table.
Correio da Manhã says Manchester United had been offering only €13m, and on Sunday, finally raised their bid to what Porto were asking.
Since the Dragons are responsible for paying percentages to Galatasaray and intermediaries, they’re only making €16m with the sale.
Record is the only one who mentions possible bonuses. They say the details of the transfer aren’t known yet, but it’s possible that Manchester United are paying an amount initially and using bonuses to reach the €20m.
According to A Bola, Alex Telles was getting ready to travel to Brazil, and then got a call from agent Pini Zahavi saying the clubs finally found a deal.
Record also points out that Telles took a private jet to Manchester yesterday, but due to technical issues with the aeroplane, they had to return to Portugal. That won’t harm the deal, but delayed it a little.
