Sporting’s pursuit of Kieran Gibbs continues, as they keep on working to try and get the player from West Bromwich Albion.
According to newspaper Record, the Lisbon side are now ‘playing’ with the player’s wish to make the move, and using it as an argument to decrease his and the Baggies’ demands.
The outlet says that sources close to Gibbs have claimed that his wish to play for Sporting is pretty big. That’s why the 28-year-old is learning a lot about the club, the Portuguese league and the city of Lisbon.
TGibbs knows he’s not getting a pay raise if he makes the move, but he doesn’t want a cut either. That’s why he’s demanding the same €1.8m after tax per season which he makes at the Championship side.
Record didn’t say how much West Brom demanding for Gibbs this time.
On Friday, they said the price was of €5m, regardless of a permanent transfer or a buying option after a one-year loan spell.
