João Félix faces an uncertain future after Chelsea’s new manager has closed the door on the forward.
That’s according to Marca, who state Mauricio Pochettino ‘does not want’ the star at the west London club next season.
Chelsea took the 23-year-old on a dry loan deal from Atlético Madrid in the winter market. He’s scored four goals from 20 games this year.
Despite failing to impress regularly, earlier claims stated the Premier League side could consider retaining the Portugal international, at least on another loan deal. That option has now been dismissed by the former PSG manager.
Pochettino is ‘planning the revival’ of the English club after a disappointing season and Félix doesn’t have a place in his plans. The new manager has already communicated the same to the player.
This is a ‘full-fledged blow’ for the ex-Benfica star’s desire to continue at Chelsea and also because there is currently ‘no club interested’ to take him in the summer.
As it stands, the attacker will have to return to Atlético, where he doesn’t share a good relationship with Diego Simeone. Both Félix and Los Rojiblancos would therefore have to make a decision on his future, which remains murky to say the least.
