‘There is Tottenham’ – Manager ‘would prefer’ PL move, making ‘very high economic demands’

Tottenham remain in the mix for manager Luis Enrique and could be competition for Napoli for the Spaniard’s signature.

That’s according to journalist Giovanni Scotto, who says Enrique ‘would prefer’ a move to the Premier League this summer if he can get it.

Tottenham remain on the hunt for their new manager two months after Antonio Conte departed the club following a disappointing season.

Spurs’ efforts to find his replacement have been haphazard to say the least, with several options seemingly turning them down or being dismissed, with Feyenoord manager Arne Slot the latest to fall by the wayside.

Enrique, who is available on a free transfer, is a name who has been linked with the position but appeared to have been ruled out when Tottenham instead focused on the likes of Julian Nagelsmann.

Since then, he’s been linked with a move to Napoli and Scotto says Aurelio de Laurentiis, Napoli’s president, ‘is waiting for an answer’ from him about becoming their new manager.

However, Enrique would prefer a move to the Premier League and ‘there is Tottenham’ as a potential option for him. Thus, he appears to be delaying any decision on his future.

There is also a problem of money, with the former Barcelona coach making ‘very high economic demands’ for a salary of €10m a year.

That’s something Napoli probably couldn’t afford but Tottenham could easily; another reason Enrique is likely not providing his answer to De Laurentiis just yet.
