Malcom has started in one league game since joining Barcelona from Bordeaux last summer.
Thursday’s report from Sport mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have already started negotiating for the 21-year-old.
Later that day, another Catalan newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, carried a report saying that sources close to the player have told them he’s no intention of leaving the La Liga winners in January.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo is more optimistic, and now claims the north London side were ‘first to sound as a possible destination’ for the winger following Harry Kane’s injury setback and Son Heung-min’s participation with South Korea at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
The report says Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is a ‘great friend’ of technical Ramon Planes, who is assistant to Barca technical secretary Rric Abidal.
This could help the Premier League get Malcom’s transfer over the line.
Tottenham were interested in signing Malcom last summer, but the Spanish champions managed to beat them and AS Roma to his signing.
Mundo claims Arsenal are also thinking about the Barca forward, but don’t have money at their disposal so they are out of the race.
Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande have also entered the race for Malcom.
What’s more important is that in the offices of the Camp Nou, they have not received a formal offer from any of the potential suitors for the player, even though there are signs of movement from several clubs.
