Leeds United’s Rasmus Kristensen has excelled for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining them on loan last summer. He has featured 27 times in all competitions this season.
The Bundesliga club have an option to buy the right-back for €15m in the summer and it’s repeatedly been stated they want to pay much less despite him doing well.
According to Tipsbladet, Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller is ‘crazy’ about the Leeds man.
The manager had a chat with the Danish outlet and said he’s thrilled to have the 27-year-old at his disposal. The German has also hailed the defender’s impact, both on and off the pitch, at Eintracht Frankfurt.
“Rasmus enjoys playing for Eintracht, and we are very happy to have him in our team. He is a positive guy who is important to our team. His experience means that he helps the young players. He plays football very intensively with great energy,” he said.
Tipsbladet indicate that if it’s up to Toppmöller, he will retain the Leeds owned player beyond this season.
At this point in time, it’s not clear what will happen to the Denmark international’s future.
Over the past few months, the German media have kept insisting that Eintracht Frankfurt don’t intend to exercise the €15m purchase option. That’s because their intention is to bring the price down to less than €10m.
The Whites may not be in favour of lowering the fee, more so if they return to the Premier League. Toppmöller, for his part, is ‘crazy’ about Kristensen, which doesn’t do much for Eintracht’s negotiating position.
