Jules Koundé’s move from Sevilla to Chelsea is ‘imminent’, with Jerome Boateng his likely replacement in Andalusia.
That’s according to Sport 1, who say while the German’s future is still up in the air, the signs are he will be moving to Spain as Koundé’s replacement.
The French centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this week, with it reported that talks between both clubs are already at an advanced stage.
Whether that’s the case remains to be seen but should he move to Stamford Bridge, Sevilla will need a replacement, and Boateng is an option.
Sport 1 report that there are ’increasing signs’ that the former Bayern Munich man will soon be earning his money in Spain.
They say that according to their information, Koundé’s move to Chelsea is ‘imminent’ and that is why Sevilla ‘urgently’ need a replacement and Boateng would be available on a free transfer.
He’s currently on holiday working on his fitness but has turned down offers from Lazio and Fiorentina already because he wants to play in the Champions League, which Sevilla can give him.
Now why Sport 1 would know about Koundé’s move, and its status isn’t clear given they’re a German outlet, but there’s a chance that they’ve had word from Boateng’s camp that a move is on the cards.
That would therefore hint Koundé is on the move, and they’ve put two and two together and come up with this.
Either way, the general consensus seems to be that the French centre-back is closing in on a transfer to Chelsea, and it could be done sooner rather than later.
