Ousmane Dembele’s €50m release clause for next summer is ‘attractive’ for Newcastle United as they continue to eye the Frenchman.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the figure has ruled the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus out of the running for his signature.
They explain that Barcelona are again ‘wondering about the future’ of the former Borussia Dortmund star, who is currently out of the side through injury.
There are serious concerns about this latest setback and that is causing ‘negative sensations’ about him at the Camp Nou once again.
The club are still locked in negotiations about a renewal of his current deal, which expires in June 2024 and contains a €50m release clause for the next summer transfer window.
That figure is ‘attractive’ for the rich clubs in the Premier League, with Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United all named specifically.
Their abundance of finances puts them at an advantage over the likes of Inter and Juventus, with the costs of the transaction and the player’s salary putting a deal out of reach for either side.
It’s not the first time any of those three sides have been linked with Dembele of course, particularly Newcastle, who were believed to already have an agreement in place before last summer.
That move never happened but they’re known to be big admirers of him and still in the picture as far as they’re concerned in Italy.
