If reports coming out of Spain are to be believed, no clubs have come forward to sign Gareth Bale.
Real Madrid are desperate to offload the Wales international, who still has a contract with the club until 2022.
On May 14th, we carried a report from AS, who explained Tottenham Hotspur would be a ‘good destination’ for the forward, especially if they beat Liverpool to win the Champions League.
Thursday’s edition of the same newspaper is now pushing the 29-year-old close to his former club.
Even though Los Blancos has not received a formal offer, his agent Jonathan Barnett has had approaches, but nothing serious so far.
AS believe Bale still has a market in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Spurs being pushed.
The report states the attacker’s return to Tottenham is ‘feasible’ and his employer values him around €70-80m.
It’s even suggested that letting Bale go for free may be an option, given how high his wages are, and Zidane’s desire for the exit.
Perhaps that’s a stretch, but it’s unlikely anyone will pay €70-80m.
