Friday saw claims coming from France that West Ham, along with Newcastle United, are ‘prepared to pay’ €30m for Moussa Marega this summer.
The 28 year old striker was born in France so that gives a good clue where these claims are coming from. West Ham have been repeatedly linked with the player and last summer he tried to force a move to the Hammers.
It led to him missing part of preseason and he was then reintegrated into the squad and had another good season.
Saturday’s edition of Record has a look at the claims from France, and it’s pretty clear that no club has actually made a serious move for the Porto player yet.
His desire to play in England is no secret and now there’s some apprehension of what will happen when he’s due back at training today.
Record say the player’s ‘fickle personality’ often causes problems at this time of year, with him hoping for a big move.
The West Ham claims from France said the €30m figure is Marega’s clause, however, Record say it’s actually €35m.
