With the great season Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is having at Napoli, he’s not only involved in transfer rumours, but in comparisons with more experienced players as well.
People see in him something which reminds them of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, and that was today commented on by the player’s father.
Kvaratskhelia’s dad was interviewed by Calcio Napoli 24, and when asked about comparisons with the Egyptian, suggested his son is actually better… although he acknowledged there may be some bias there.
“It’s a wonderful comparison, because Salah is a great footballer who has done extraordinary things with Liverpool and Egypt, but we like Khvicha more (laughs),” Badri Kvaratskhelia told Calcio Napoli 24.
“Many say that he’s the strongest, for me he is because I’m the father, but hearing it from others fills me with pride.”
Kvaratskhelia has 11 goals and 14 assists in 23 appearances for Napoli this season. He’s one of their main creative weapons, being crucial for their impressive campaign which keeps them on top of the Serie A table.
His season is more than enough to draw the attention from Premier League sides, and even Liverpool have been mentioned in those rumours, with reports from the Italian media claiming the winger is ‘observed‘ by the Reds.
Kvaratskhelia’s father may think his son is already better than Salah, but since the Reds’ star has 18 goals this season, the debate would have plenty of good points on both sides.
