Despite having an agreement to sign Robert Kenedy from Chelsea, Brazilian side Flamengo will need to wait a little longer until they have the player.
As reported today by O Dia, the winger may be infected with Covid and is currently isolated in a hotel.
The newspaper explains that his first test was positive, the second was negative and the third was inconclusive. So a new result is expected today.
According to O Dia, people involved in the negotiations say the 25-year-old is fine, with light symptoms of the disease.
Flamengo were hopeful that Kenedy could play the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals on the 25th of August, but in case he’s indeed positive for Covid, then he’d need to quarantine before flying to his home country.
O Dia says the winger is joining Flamengo on a one-year loan with an option to buy for €10m.
The Rio de Janeiro side will also be paying 100% of his salary while they have him.
