Italy’s Calciomercato report on Tuesday that the future of Mario Mandzukic is once again under question. It’s explained that despite the ‘sirens’ of Tottenham Hostpur and Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window, Mandzukic decided to stay where he was and try to win the Champions League.
Mandzukic returning to Bayern Munich last January doesn’t seem to make a great deal of sense, given how publicly he felt out with Pep Guardiola, who only left the club this summer.
Calciomercato say that with the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, Mandzukic again sees his future under question. Once again Bayern Munich are said to be interested, ready to ‘welcome him with open arms’ and Barcelona are said to have more than a passing interest.
Then Tottenham and Everton are brought into the equation, the Premier League clubs said to be ‘lining up’ to sign the striker. Then there’s West Ham, who apparently want more than Johnathan Calleri.
So Mandzukic currently has Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Tottenham, Everton and West Ham all vying to sign him – sounds like a lucky guy.
Interest from Tottenham is especially hard to believe given they’ve bought Vincent Janssen and so wouldn’t really need the player.
