There’s a week left until Benfica face Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-finals, and a specific player can’t take his mind off this game already.

That’s Alex Grimaldo, who according to newspaper Correio da Manhã, is now working ‘extra hours’ for a special mission he’ll have in those clashes.

The report says the left-back is the one who’s supposed to stop Mohamed Salah. The Spaniard is currently doing ‘specific work’ so he can win the duel against the Reds’ star.

To get prepared for the job, Grimaldo is currently analysing videos of the Liverpool star’s performances. That’s something he’s done against other opponents in the Champions League and had a positive result.

Correio da Manhã writes Benfica understand that in case they want to get to the semi-finals, a lot will weigh on ‘reducing the influence’ Salah has in the team. And even though they know it’s collective work that will make the mission possible, there’s a main man for the job, and that’s Grimaldo.

Benfica and Liverpool play the first leg at the Estádio da Luz on the 5th of April, then face each other again at Anfield on the 13th.
