Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard ‘would be willing’ to join Chelsea this summer if they make a ‘serious offer’ for him.

That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who insists the Blues can get the Frenchman if they want him.

Chelsea remain on the hunt for new defenders this summer after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

They’ve signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli but still want more additions, having missed out on Jules Koundé, who has instead joined Barcelona.

Pavard is one of the names that has been linked as a target given he is able to play at both centre-back and full-back.

He finds himself under increasing pressure at Bayern after the arrivals of Mattijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui this summer, two players who are likely to push him down the pecking order.

A move to Chelsea would make sense, then, and Falk says the player ‘would be willing’ to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

That is dependent on Chelsea making a ‘serious offer’ for him, but he does not share what would constitute a serious offer. At a guess, though, Bayern would like to recoup much if not all of the £31.5m they paid Stuttgart in 2019.

It remains to be seen if the Blues make a bid, then, but at least if they do they know that Pavard is interested.
