Brighton and Hove Albion youngster Simon Adingra will be returning to the club this summer once his loan deal at sister club Union SG comes to an end.
That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who say the 21-year-old intends to return to the Seagulls and hopefully follow in the footsteps of Kaoru Mitoma.
Adingra has been on loan with the Belgian side since the summer and getting the regular gametime his development requires.
He’s impressed too, bagging nine goals and eight assists in 28 league games and three assists in eight games in the Europa League.
His loan deal only runs until the summer, though, and it seems the plan is for him to return to Brighton when it comes to an end.
VN report that Adingra ‘will return’ to his parent club once his loan deal expires and that he ‘hopes to follow’ in the footsteps of Mitoma and establish himself under Roberto de Zerbi.
Mitoma also spent a spell with Union SG between 2021 and 2022 after joining Brighton from Kawasaki Frontale before returning last summer and establishing himself as one of the breakout stars of the Premier League and Brighton this season.
It seems Adingra has taken note of that and wants to see if he can repeat the trick by reuniting with Brighton in the summer and going from there.
