On April 3rd, journalist Ciro Venerato told CalcioNapoli24 that Emerson Palmieri’s name is on top of Napoli’s transfer list in the fullback position for next season.
Venerato also explained the Serie A side have proposed a five-year deal worth €3m net per season and they are waiting to find out whether or not the Blues will make the left-back available in the market.
Another Italian website Area Napoli also echo claims made by CalcioNapoli24 about the Naples club’s interest in the 25-year-old and then provides further information.
They state the left-back is more than an idea for Gennaro Gattuso’s side as they have been following him for months.
Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli could shortly make an offer of €3m net per season to Emerson’s agent before approaching Chelsea. They will need €18-20m to bring the player back to Italy.
According to the report, Chelsea are working to ‘upgrade’ their left-back position and only after they have purchased a new player in the same position, will Frank Lampard’s side allow Emerson to leave Stamford Bridge.
