Out of the blue on Monday, Marseille decided Olivier Ntcham was going to be their prime target for transfer deadline day.
The midfielder has been linked with them in the past, but he’s never been as available as he is now, used in just about third of Celtic’s league games this season.
The former France U21 has been the subject of a bid from the Ligue 1 side, who have reportedly offered a loan with a view to buy at €5.5m.
That, however, falls short of their demands, with Saber Desfarges, working for Téléfoot Chaîne, explaining the two sides ‘aren’t in agreement’ over the amount of the purchase clause.
⚪️🔵 Olivier Ntcham veut rejoindre l’OM. Le joueur espère et attend un dénouement positif entre Marseille et le Celtic. Les deux clubs, pour l’heure, ne sont pas d’accord sur la somme de l’option d’achat. #MercatoOM @telefoot_chaine

Down the player’s end, Ntcham ‘wants to join Marseille’, and the midfielder ‘is hoping and waiting for a positive outcome’ between Celtic and the French club.
So it seems the 24-year-old wants out of Parkhead, and there’s a good chance that could happen.
Marseille just need to up their offer a bit.
