Freiburg forward Kevin Schade has ‘already done’ his medical at Brentford and is set to join the Bees on loan with an obligation to buy.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenburg, who says the forward’s move to Brentford is ‘on the verge’ of being finalised.
Brentford have been linked with a move for Schade since the summer, when they were also keen on the winger but failed to secure his signature.
They revived their interest last month, with a report explaining that they won’t give up on signing him and were going to try again in January.
That was followed by comments from Freiburg manager Christian Streich today, who insisted they would not turn a blind eye to any decent offers that arrived for the players.
Well, it seems such an offer has now arrived, with Plettenburg reporting that a ‘medical is already done’ for a move to Brentford.
He stated that the ‘final details have to be clarified’ on the move but it is set to happen, with Brentford securing a loan deal with an obligation to buy for a figure around €25m in the summer.
That’s considered a ‘top deal’ for the player and for Freiburg, who are set to cash in on the youngster and send him to the Premier League.
