Besiktas goalkeeper Loris Karius has spoken to the media at his team’s winter training camp in Antalya and was quizzed about the Turkish side’s latest links with Fulham’s Fabri.
Fabri is reportedly a target for Besiktas just six months after leaving the club to head to Craven Cottage.
Quizzed about the Spaniard re-joining the Istanbul club, Karius said, as covered by Haber 1903: “If I listen and paid attention to all the rumours written before, I’d have already returned to Liverpool. I am not a goalkeeper who will sit on the bench. I am the No.1 goalkeeper at the club right now.”
Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Besiktas have agreed personal terms with the goalkeeper and now they need to convince Fulham over the transfer.
It was claimed the Super Lig side want to loan Fabri for 18 months whilst the Premier League will only rent him for the remainder of the season.
However, it was reported an agreement between the two clubs is ‘imminent’ which could see Karius pushed aside. The Liverpool loanee has made some costly errors since arriving in Turkey which has brought criticism in the press.
Fabri himself has struggled since joining Fulham, playing just two games for the London club.
