Another day brings another edition of French newspaper L’Equipe, and, you guessed it, another snippet on Steve Mandanda to Marseille.
Over the past 6 months the goalkeeper’s future has easily been one of the newspaper’s favourite topics, and even though the football section is playing second fiddle to Tour de France at the moment, there’s still room for Mandanda.
L’Equipe take it more widely than simply the Crystal Palace player, and explain Marseille need to sign a goalkeeper, regardless of that being Mandanda or not.
Kicking off their article by saying ‘Help yourself and heaven will help you’, Mandanda is told he needs to be very persuasive with Frank De Boer and Steve Parish. The two need to ‘soften their stance’ and presumably drop their asking price to something Marseille find reasonable.
Alternatively, Marseille could up their offer to something Crystal Palace find reasonable, but that doesn’t seem to be the route L’Equipe prefer to push.
