Olivier Giroud has just over five months left on his contract at Chelsea and he can leave the Blues as a free agent in the summer.

The striker was in a similar situation in the winter 2020 market and was then keen on moving to Italy.

That’s what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting and further add Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia blocked the 34-year-old’s exit last January.

A few months later, the France international extended his contract and that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season.

It’s claimed Thomas Tuchel’s side ‘will have to let the player go’ as there’s no possibility of further extending his stay by another 12 months.

Giroud is likely to represent the World Cup winners at the European championships later this summer.

TMW explain it’s ‘impossible’ for the former Arsenal star to leave Chelsea in the winter market. He will stay in London for six more months and will decide his ‘new adventure’ after the Euros.

Giroud can join another club as a free agent in the next window and Inter Milan and AS Roma, along with Juventus are ‘still at the window’ for him.

Le10 Sport are also reporting the Frenchman has decided not to leave the London club in the ongoing window as Giroud wants to be ‘decisive’ every time his new manager decides to use him in the second half of this campaign.
