FutbolArena have reported Galatasaray have been given a boost in their pursuit of Stoke City midfielder Gianelli Imbula.
The Turkish website claims Galatasaray’s board are on the verge of convincing Imbula to sign for them, because the Stoke City player is now seriously considering the possibility of playing in Turkey.
It’s been reported Galatasaray have offered a €2.2m a year salary to Imbula, and the Frenchman is currently considering this offer with his agent. The only problem for the Turkish side is that Stoke City’s preference is to sell Imbula on a permanent deal, rather than see him go out on loan.
Galatasaray are prepared to have a redemption clause in a loan, something they hope will convince Stoke.
It’s been claimed if Stoke City change their stance on Imbula, Galatasaray CEO Cenk Ergun will fly to England for negotiations with the Premier League side.
The Istanbul side are hoping they can get Imbula before pre-season as they are set to feature in Europa League qualifiers next month.
