Earlier this week, we covered an article from France Football that Crystal Palace were interested in Monaco’s Djibril Sidbé, which came after L’Equipe explained West Ham were also hovering.
This made sense since the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United left a big gap on the right-hand side of Roy Hodgson’s defence, but there were doubts as to whether or not the player would be interested in a move.
Well, the same outlet appear to have received an update on Wednesday, as they believe the defender would be ‘tempted’ by a transfer to the Premier League.
Both West Ham and Crystal Palace are said to have ‘manifested their interest’ in the right-back, who hopes a move will go through this time after a failed move to Atlético Madrid last year.
With just a couple of weeks left in the transfer window on this side of the Channel, France Football believe it won’t be long before one of the two sides (or both) makes a move for Sidibé.
Down their end, Monaco wouldn’t be against a sale, since they have too many players in their squad, but they won’t let him go for cheap.
France Football suggest a fee of around €15m would be needed to sign the 26-year-old.
We know Crystal Palace have the money, but we’ll have to see how much is left in West Ham’s coffers after their lavish spending in the transfer window so far.
