Following a departure from Chelsea this summer, Tiémoué Bakayoko seems close to finding a new club.

French outlet Le10Sport writes that Nice are currently in talks to sign the 29-year-old.

With the player leaving Chelsea at the end his free contract, he’d be joining the Ligue 1 side as a free agent.

Nice are in touch with the player’s entourage and seem to lead the race, as Le10Sport’s source claims that other interested clubs, such as Lyon and Rennes, are unlikely to go any further to get him signed.

The current negotiations held by Nice is to know the ‘financial conditions’ for his arrival, and discussions are said to be underway for an agreement.

Chelsea signed Bakayoko in a €40m deal from AS Monaco in 2017, and despite how hyped up the transfer was at the time, they actually made little use of him, keeping him at the club for only one season.

In 2018, the Blues decided not to keep him in the squad and the loans started. They’ve sent him to AC Milan, Monaco and Napoli, until agreeing his final loan, again with the Rossoneri, where he was kept until the end of his deal with the Stamford Bridge side this summer.
