Anthony Limbombe to Huddersfield Town has come back into focus this week after going strangely quiet. That’s likely because he’s back in training, having returned from a groin issue.

Earlier this week we brought a round-up of what’s happened in the potential transfer: On June 19th it was claimed in Belgium that Anthony Limbombe was ‘on his way to Huddersfield Town’ in a deal thought to be worth €12-15m for Club Brugge.

He’d even been house-hunting.

On June 28th, another report came from Belgium. It was explained Huddersfield’s initial €8m offer had been ‘laughed at’, but they then returned and it was thought a deal would be done at around €12m.

Limbombe was said to be ‘almost gone’ but it’s clearly dragged on a bit. On Wednesday it was reported in Belgium that the player ‘has an agreement’ with Huddersfield.

Today’s edition of Het Nieuwsblad reports the footballer is suffering from ‘transferitis’, he’s out of action with transfer fever and isn’t being picked for Club Brugge’s friendlies.

He’s not the only one, and there’s various insinuations in Belgium over whether it’s down to the players, Club Brugge, or a mixture of the two.

Het Nieuwsblad reports Limbombe ‘will almost certainly’ move to Huddersfield. This one just needs edging over the line.
