Osasuna defender David García is continuing to be ‘monitored’ by Nottingham Forest after they ‘seduced’ him in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the defender is still being watched by various clubs around the world after being targeted in the summer.

They explain that García is currently experiencing a great stage in his professional career, continuing to shine for Osasuna after they finished seventh last year and reached the final of the Copa del Rey.

It means he has ‘no shortage of suitors’ and several of those teams continue to monitor his performances and ‘threaten’ to take him away.

Estadio say that Nottingham Forest are one of them and they ‘contacted’ Osasuna in the summer in an attempt to bring their relative positions closer and reach an understanding for a transfer.

That never happened as the ‘hasty nature’ of the conversations, at the end of the transfer window, meant the option was eventually ruled out.

That’s something we covered at the time, with one report explaining how Nottingham Forest had sent a letter and another from Osasuna sporting director Braulio Vázquez detailing how he didn’t even bother answering the Premier League side.

It seems their interest has not gone away, though, and they continue to watch the player ahead of a possible move next summer.

They’re just one of several sides seemingly doing that at this moment in time but it’s something to keep an eye on if the 29-year-old continues to impress in Spain.
