Well, that report was exactly on point, as the player has now been spotted at the airport, where he is travelling to Birmingham.
Mundo Deportivo have an article on the situation, explaining he will go to England to finalise the move to Aston Villa, where he will then be announced as a new player.
The defender will sign for five seasons, but before putting pen to paper, he will need to ‘undergo the corresponding medical tests’.
Therefore, if all goes to plan, the centre-back will start pre-season under Unai Emery with plenty of time to integrate his new team in the best possible manner, helped by the fact he has already worked under the Spaniard when the two were together at the La Liga side.
