With the 2019/20 season delayed due to the Covid-19 crisis, Leicester City were successful in retaining Nampalys Mendy until the end of the campaign.
The midfielder, who is a free agent this summer, has made two appearances since the restart, taking his overall tally to eight in all competitions.
Bordeaux and Saint-Étienne are reportedly keen on taking the 28-year-old on a free transfer, but his agent earlier admitted discussions are ongoing for a move outside of France.
Earlier this month, Le10 Sport explained the Foxes want to retain the former AS Monaco man, and have offered him an extension. It was also reported the player is ‘considering’ the proposal from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Despite interest from elsewhere, including from Bordeaux, Mendy has decided to continue at the King Power.
It’s claimed the player and Leicester are now ‘close to reaching an agreement for a contract extension’.
